Phoenix Police Identify Woman Killed In Sunday Collision

Phoenix police detectives responded near Pinnacle Peak and Cave Creek Road to investigate a four-vehicle collision that left one person dead on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, just after 4:15 p.m. on December 11, 2022, officers responded to a call of a vehicle collision near Pinnacle Peak and Cave Creek Road. Officers found a female, later identified as 23-year-old Sarah Warren, suffering fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased on scene by the fire department.

Detectives believe that Warren was driving north on Cave Creek Road. The roadway is under construction and merges to one lane. While Warren was driving north on Cave Creek Road, she collided into a vehicle who was also going north during the merge point. After the collision Warren’s vehicle went into a raised median and into southbound lanes where she collided into a truck pulling a travel trailer. A fourth vehicle going south collided into Warren’s vehicle. The driver of the truck pulling the travel trailer was identified as an adult male who was processed for DUI and released. There were no other reported injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
