On Wednesday, December 14 at approximately 3:55 p.m., Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 3100 block of McConnico Rd. in Golden Valley for a reported homicide.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Hoenshell Jr, 73 of Golden Valley shot and killed his roommate, Everett Yates, 73 of Golden Valley. Hoenshell was arrested for 1st Degree Murder.
Detectives learned that the roommates had an argument the day prior over a damaged microwave. During interviews Robert made statements about his involvement, indicating that he shot Everett while he was sleeping. This investigation is ongoing.
