Prescott Valley Police Officer Arrested For Domestic Violence Incident

An officer with the Prescott Valley Police Department has been arrested in a case of domestic violence.

According to the Prescott Valley Police Department, on December 22, 2022, at 1:45 p.m., officers responded to an off-duty police officer’s home in Prescott Valley after a report of a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival officers learned that a Prescott Valley Police Department sergeant was involved in the incident and immediately contacted the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.

At 6:07 p.m., deputies returned and arrested Sergeant Michael Morris for domestic violence. Sgt. Morris was transported and booked into the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center on charges of Disorderly Conduct per Domestic Violence and Criminal Damage per Domestic Violence.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the criminal investigation at the request of the Prescott Valley Police Department.

Sgt. Morris remains on administrative leave pending an internal investigation into this incident.
