Phoenix Police Department officers are investigating a collision that resulted in the death of a 49-year-old man.
Phoenix Police officers responded to a call of a vehicle collision around 7:20 p.m. at 46th Avenue and Thomas Road. When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 49-year-old Sendegeya Kabundi, in the roadway with obvious signs of trauma. The fire department responded and transported Kabundi to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The driver involved in this collision remained on scene and was uninjured. Detectives responded and learned Kabundi was using the crosswalk at the time of the collision. There is no indication that impairment is a factor.
