On January 16, 2023, 39-year-old Luis Fernando Parra Cruz was arrested in connection with the shooting at Julioberto’s Mexican Food near 3rd Street and Dunlap on Sunday morning.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on January 15, 2023, just before 4:00 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at the restaurant. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wound. The victim he died from his injuries and he was pronounced on scene.
Homicide detectives believe that a fight occurred in the drive thru lane of the restaurant between two customers, the victim, who was a customer in the drive-thru lane, and another man. During the fight, Parra Cruz produced a firearm and shot the victim.
