
An investigation by Phoenix Police officers into the sale of a tiger cub has led to the arrest of 25-year-old Carlos Castro-Alcaraz and the safe seizure of the cub.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were notified of a tiger cub being offered for sale on social media on January 23,
2023. After following up and obtaining a search warrant on a residence in the area of 2300 West Carson Road, officers found and rescued the tiger cub.
Several other animals were located at the residence to include baby snapping turtles and a baby American Alligator. All animals were released into the custody of Arizona Fish and Game for follow up care.
Alcaraz was booked into the Maricopa County jail.
