Arrest Made In Backseat Homicide In West Phoenix

On Tuesday, Phoenix Police Department detectives booked 19-year-old Robert Alexis Hernandez for his involvement in the deadly shooting that occurred on January 18, 2023 that took the life of 18-year-old Aaron Joseph Hernandez.

Police believe the victim along with other men were in a vehicle meeting with an unknown man who was later identified as Robert Hernandez. During the meeting, Robert entered the backseat of the victims’ vehicle. During this interaction, multiple gunshots were fired, striking and killing Aaron Hernandez and wounding another passenger. Robert Hernandez left the area injured from gunfire and was picked up in the neighborhood by an unknown person. Robert Hernandez was dropped off at a local hospital for treatment.

After extensive interviews, evidence collection and analysis, detectives were able to identify Robert Hernandez as a suspect. He was booked into jail on several offenses to include first degree murder.
