Two Walden Grove Students Detained For Allegedly Threating To Blow Up School

On Thursday afternoon, the Sahuarita Police Department received a report of a possible threat incident at Walden Grove High School. The initial information indicated a student or students may have received, by way of a text message or air drop, a picture of a “grenade” along with a threat possibly indicating blowing up “the place.”

Sahuarita Police Department (SPD) officers responded to Walden Grove High School, where they made contact with school staff, including the Principal and Vice Principals.

Additionally, Pima County Sherriff’s Deputy’s responded to assist with security and processes at the school.

The school immediately went into lockdown. While initially on scene, information about shots being possibly fired on campus came out; however, officers on scene were not able to confirm any shots being fired.

There are no known injuries to students or staff.

Two male Walden Grove High School students associated with this threat incident are in custody. One of them, reportedly, had a “fake grenade.”
