Chandler Police Looking For Man That Damaged Car In Costco Parking Lot

The Chandler Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding a man who reportedly damaged a car in a Costco parking lot.

According to the Chandler Police Department, on January 14, 2023, at about 1:10 p.m., a victim parked her vehicle in a parking space at Costco located at 595 South Galleria Way. After parking her vehicle she walked to the store and was confronted by a female who accused the victim of taking their parking space. The victim apologized and entered the store.

When the victim returned her vehicle, she discovered her GMC SUV had been damaged. She was approached by a customer who told her that a man had taken an object, thought to be a rock, and damaged the paint. The same customer took photographs of the crime as it happened. The estimate of the damage to the SUV is over $45,000.

The surveillance video from inside the store shows the male suspect meeting up with the female who had just confronted the victim earlier in the parking lot. The subject exited the store three minutes later without making a purchase.

The Chandler Police Department is asking anyone with any information about these people to call their a non-emergency number at 480-782-4130. Information that leads to the suspect’s location may be eligible for award up to $1000 by calling 480 – WITNESS
