Phoenix detectives are investigating what led up to the shooting death of a man who was waking in the area of 1400 East Baseline Road on Thursday night.
Phoenix officers responded to a shooting call late Thursday night just after 10:00 p.m. in the area of 14th Street and Baseline Road. When officers got to the scene, they saw a man identified as Jeremiaha Austin, suffering from a gunshot wound. Mr. Austin was taken to a local hospital where he did not survive his injuries.
While on scene, officers learned the victim had been walking home with a family member when he was shot by an unknown suspect that left the area.
