Phoenix Police Investigating Shooting Of Man By Friends Former Girlfriend

An man, Jesus Alexander Reyes-Morales, was found suffering from fatal gunshot wounds near 27th Avenue and Melvin Street.

During the investigative process, the suspect was located and arrested.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, just before 1:00 a.m. on February 21, 2023 Phoenix police responded to a call of an unknown trouble at a residence near 27th Avenue and Melvin Street. Officers found the 18-year-old Reyes-Morales suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives believe that Reyes-Morales was at a residence with an adult female friend. The adult female’s former boyfriend arrived at the home. During the interaction Reyes-Morales was shot. The former boyfriend left the home before police arrived.

As the investigation continued the former boyfriend was located and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters for an interview and will be booked into jail for multiple offenses including murder.
