Phoenix Police Investigating Deadly Shooting After Dispute In Car

A 24-year-old man was found by Phoenix police officers suffering from a fatal gunshot wound near 60th Street and Acoma Drive on Wednesday.

On February 21, 2023 at 9:00 p.m. Phoenix police responded to a call of a shooting in a neighborhood near 60th Street and Acoma Drive. Officers found a man, who was later identified as Dylan Forbes, in a vehicle suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

The suspect who was later identified as 24-year-old Cameron Drake left the scene and called police stating he shot Forbes in self-defense. Officers located Drake and he was detained.

Detectives believe that Forbes was in a vehicle with Drake and another person. During a dispute Forbes was shot. Drake left the scene after the shooting and called police. The other person in the vehicle remained on scene and called police after the shooting occurred. Drake was transported to police headquarters for an interview and booked into jail for 2nd degree murder.
