Phoenix Condo Fire Leaves Father And 2 Children Dead, 2 Children Injured

Phoenix police detectives and members of the Phoenix Fire Investigations Taskforce are investigating a fire that claimed the life of a father and two of his children late Wednesday night.

On March 1, 2023, just after 11:00 p.m., Phoenix police officers and Phoenix fire personnel responded to a residential fire near 3200 West Royal Palm Road. When units arrived, firefighters began to work the fire and located five injured people inside. The victims were carried out by firefighters and life saving measures began.

The father was pronounced deceased on scene. Four juvenile patients were transported to local hospitals. Two children did not survive their injuries and died at the hospital. The other two children remain in the hospital and are in critical condition.

The four children range from age 5 to 12.

The exact cause of the fire remains part of investigation. At this time, there is no evidence to indicate this fire was intentionally started.
