Phoenix Police Arrest Suspect In Deadly Argument At Convenience Store

Phoenix police detectives are investigating a shooting that happened Friday night in the area of 48th Street and McDowell Road which left one man in dead and another in the hospital.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on March 2, 2023, just before 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at a convenience store near 4800 East McDowell Road. When units arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to local hospitals. One man, identified as 27-year-old Kevin Turner, did not survive his injuries. The other man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Homicide detectives believe that an argument occurred between the two men who were shot and 38-year-old Devalon Jackson. During the argument, Jackson suspect fired multiple shots at the victims. Jackson fled the area prior to officers arriving on scene, but was later arrested and was booked into jail on multiple felonies to include murder.
