Former Maricopa County Detention Officer Arrested As Fugitive

On March 10, 2023, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office personnel arrested and booked a former detention officer and fugitive from justice.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension and Tactical Enforcement (FATE) along with the Desert Hawk Violent Crimes Task Force, arrested 27-year-old Andres Salazar for two outstanding warrants after he failed to appear for his court date.

The Maricopa County Superior Court warrants included:
• Theft with a $25,000.00 bond (CR2023-006245-001)
• Two counts of Promoting Prison Contraband, Sale/Transportation of Dangerous Drugs, and Sale/Transportation of Narcotic Drugs with a $100,000.00 bond

Salazar was a former Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office detention officer who was previously arrested on the above charges on January 11, 2023.
