A woman fought off a man who attempted to kidnap her while inside a parking garage at Sky Harbor.
The Phoenix man, who was previously convicted of sexual assault, has been identified as 61-year-old Michael Andre Colville.
According to Sergeant Melissa Soliz of the Phoenix Police Department, on March 17, 2023 at about 12:15 p.m., the victim walked to her parked vehicle at the parking garage at 4445 E. Sky Harbor Blvd. While loading her belongings in the vehicle, Colville pushed her from behind.
The victim struggled with Colville, kicking him in the groin. Colville eventually gave up and walked away. The victim left the area and called police.
Video from the PHX Sky Train® and Valley Metro Rail were utilized, as well as several other investigative techniques to identify the suspect. Detectives were able to locate Colville at his home near 24th Street and Van Buren Street.
Colville was arrested the next day on March 18, 2023. Colville did not provide a statement to police. Colville was booked into jail for kidnapping.
