Phoenix Police detectives make a DUI arrest in the fatal collision between two vehicles late Thursday night.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were called to the area of 4200 North 7th Avenue on March 30, 2023, at about 11:22 p.m. When officers got to the scene, they found an adult male suffering from serious injuries. The man was taken to a local hospital where he did not survive his injuries.
Detectives took over the investigation and learned that the victim had crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a truck. The driver of the truck and his adult passenger ran from the scene and were later located by patrol officers. It was learned that the driver showed signs of impairment and was processed for DUI. The man was also taken to the hospital where he was admitted.
His booking into Maricopa County jail is pending upon his release from medical care.
