Woman Killed In Drive-By Shooting At Phoenix Restaurant

A woman is dead and another injured after a drive-by shooting on Sunday near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on Sunday 16, just after 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting at a restaurant near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road. Officers found two women suffering gunshot wounds. They were both transported to the hospital with serious injuries. One of the women, identified as 64-year-old Jeanneatte Smith Leibby, died at the hospital.

Detectives believe a vehicle drove by and fired a weapon towards the business. The vehicle left the area before police arrived. The suspect(s) remain outstanding.
