Man Charged With 8 Felony Counts For Assault On Phoenix Police Officer

A man accused of assaulting a Phoenix police officer is facing felony charges, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Rudy Gomez was arrested on April 30, after attacking Officer George Manciu.

Gomez has been charged with eight felony counts including three counts of aggravated assault, class three felonies; four counts of endangerment, class six dangerous felonies; and one count of assault, a class one misdemeanor.

Officer Manciu was assaulted by Gomez after the officer responded to a domestic violence call in Central Phoenix. The assault was captured on body-worn camera.
