Phoenix Police Investigating Late-Night Collision, Pedestrian Killed

Phoenix police detectives are investigating a late-night collision that left a pedestrian dead.

On May 16, 2023, just after 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of 26th Avenue and Camelback Road regarding a pedestrian down in the street with apparent injuries. When officers arrived, they located an adult female, identified as 54-year-old Colleen Caryn Martin, with serious injuries. Martin was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. She did not survive her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The vehicle involved in the collision took off after the collision.

Detectives say preliminary information suggests that Martin was crossing Camelback Road, mid-block, when she was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound.
