An afternoon single vehicle collision in Phoenix has left a motorcycle rider dead.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on May 19, 2023, just after 12:30 p.m. officers responded to the area of 19th Avenue and Larkspur Drive regarding a collision involving a motorcycle. When officers arrived, they located 52-year-old David Wayne Jones, with serious injuries. Jones was transported to local hospital but did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Detectives believe that Jones was riding his motorcycle southbound on 19th Avenue when he struck a raised curb and was thrown from the motorcycle. Speed is believed to be a factor in the collision.
