A man is dead following an early morning shooting outside of a Phoenix business in the west valley.
On May 20, 2023, around 3:45 a.m., Phoenix police officers responded to 27th Avenue and Augusta Avenue regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they located 50-year-old Nixon Petit with gunshot wounds. Mr. Petit was transported to a local hospital where he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Detectives believe that Mr. Petit was involved in an argument outside of a business when he was shot multiple times. The suspect left the area after the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
