Motorcyclist Killed After Phoenix Driver Turns in Front Of Him

On Friday, Phoenix police detectives began investigating a collision that left a motorcyclist dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on June 2, 2023, at about 1:20 a.m., officers responded to a collision in the area of 28th Avenue and Northern Avenue involving a motorcyclist and an SUV driven by an adult female. When officers got to the area, they found 38-year-old Charles Hansen, who was driving a motorcycle, suffering critical injuries. Phoenix Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.

The driver of the SUV stayed on scene and showed no signs of impairment. She was taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Early information indicates Mr. Hansen was driving east on Northern Avenue when the SUV turned in front of him.
