Phoenix Police Department detectives Dare investigating a shooting that left a juvenile male dead. Detectives advise that they have detained multiple individuals, but the shooter remains outstanding.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were dispatched to a call of a shooting after a 17-year-old Fabian Rivera was brought to a hospital with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers received additional information stating the shooting occurred in a residential area near 85th Drive and Encanto Boulevard.
Officers checked the neighborhood at 85th Drive and Encanto Boulevard and found evidence of a shooting near a park. Rivera received medical treatment at the hospital but later died from his injuries.
Detectives responded to the scene and searched the area for witnesses and surveillance. The evidence led detectives to a home in the neighborhood. A search warrant was authored and secured by detectives which allowed members from the Special Assignments Unit to enter the home and detain multiple investigative leads.
Detectives continue to actively investigate the shooting and are asking anyone with information to contact the Phoenix Police
Department or Silent Witness if they wish to remain anonymous.
