Phoenix Police Investigating Deadly Motorcycle Collision

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a late evening collision that left a motorcycle rider dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on July 15, 2023, at 8:05 p.m. officers responded to the area of 29th Avenue and Indian School Road regarding a collision involving a motorcycle. When officers arrived, they located the motorcycle rider, identified as 31-year-old Marvin Nixon, with serious injuries.

Mr. Nixon was transported to a local hospital where he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Two additional vehicles were involved in the collision, both of which remained on scene.

Detectives believe that Mr. Nixon was traveling west on Indian School Road when his motorcycle struck a vehicle turning north onto 29th Avenue from eastbound Indian School Road. Debris from the collision struck another vehicle in the area.

Speed is likely a factor in this collision.
