Phoenix Police detectives have identified the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred in a west Phoenix apartment complex parking lot Tuesday afternoon as Almonzo Yesslith.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were dispatched to a call of a shooting near 72nd Avenue and McDowell Road at an apartment complex parking lot. When officers arrived, they found the 21-year-old Yesslith lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds. Witnesses provided officers with a vehicle description of a car that drove off before they arrived.
The fire department responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
Officers located the vehicle and pulled it over near 35th Avenue and Roosevelt Street. Two men inside the vehicle were detained. Officers found evidence that suggested the victim was inside the car.
