A registered sex offender who had been living in Sierra Vista is headed back to state prison just three years after being released following a 10-year stint for sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl in 2011.

Brian Wade Price was sentenced Monday to serve a five-year term for a second conviction related to sexual conduct with a minor in 2011. He was originally placed on lifetime probation for that crime, starting upon his release by the Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) in June 2020.

At the time, the Sierra Vista Police Department issued a public notification that Price –who was deemed a Level 2 sex offender risk– would be living in the community. Price, who turns 36 this month, is also known by the nickname X Preacher.

Then on June 8 of this year, Price’s probation officer alleged he violated the terms of probation in April. The alleged violations were failing to report an address change, failing to reside at an approved residence, and possessing unspecified “sexually stimulating or sexually oriented materials.”

Court records show Price was booked into the Cochise County jail the same day pending a hearing on the alleged probation violations.

In July, Price admitted to committing one probation violation. He also stipulated to being sentenced to a five-year prison term instead of attempting to be reinstated to probation.

That sentencing took place July 31 at the Cochise County Superior Court.

Price must register as a sex offender upon his release by ADC.
