On Monday, a field hearing of the Subcommittee on National Security, Border, and Foreign Affairs, titled “Biden’s Border Crisis and Its Effect on American Communities” featured rancher John Ladd and Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannells.
Also present were Reps. Andy Biggs, Juan Ciscomani, William Timmons, and Chuck Edwards.
In his opening statement, Committee Chair Rep. Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin, argued that the “Biden Administration’s failed policies have caused a catastrophe along our southwest border and harmed communities across the country.” He blasted Democrat members of the subcommittee for failing to attend the field hearing, underscoring what he believes is a “lack of desire to exercise oversight of the humanitarian and national security crisis along the southern border.”
“I don’t think the Border will ever be the same no matter how good it gets from this point forward,” Ladd told the lawmakers. “The border is never going to be the same, and that’s my problem.”
“Your school systems are ruined. Your hospital systems are ruined and your welfare is ruined. America is nowhere near what it was when I grew up,” concluded Ladd.
Thank you @GOPoversight, and the five Republicans who showed up to the field hearing: @andybiggs4az, @JuanCiscomani, @ChuckEdwards4NC, @VoteTimmons and @GrothmanforWI.
Not a single Democrat Representative showed up.
Our border is not secure and the Biden Democrats don’t care. https://t.co/xxSuzRDsfI

Sheriff Dannels says the Biden Admin is playing word games to trick the American people into feeling safe.
Meanwhile, not a single border patrol official has told Sheriff Dannels that they believe the border is secure. pic.twitter.com/DC4XE0JbdC
