Phoenix police have made an arrest in connection with the deadly shooting of a 16-year-old that occurred in July 2022.
After a yearlong investigation and tireless work, detectives have identified and arrested 22-year-old Lashaun Chambers for the shooting death of Kevin Enriquez.
Chambers was arrested on August 14, 2023 and booked into jail for 2nd degree murder.
On the morning of July 16th 2022, Phoenix police responded to the intersection of 26th Avenue and Luke Avenue after receiving a report of shots fired and a vehicle that had possibly been hit. Officers on scene found a vehicle with damage from gunshots, and Kevin Enriquez deceased in the driver’s seat.
Investigation at the scene found that after the shooting, believed to be in the area of 5500 North 26th Avenue, the victim’s vehicle struck a parked car and came to rest where it was discovered by officers.
