Overnight Shooting Leaves Teenager Dead In Bed In Phoenix Drive By

Phoenix Police are investigating a drive by shooting that resulted in the death of
a teenaged girl, Giaginette Brown.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on September 3, 2023, around 8:00 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the area of 109th Avenue and Taft Street regarding a person that was shot. When officers arrived, they found 15-year-old Giaginette Brown, with at least one gunshot wound. Life saving measures were attempted by the Phoenix Fire Department, but she did not survive her injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Detectives believe that Giaginette was in her bed, when shots entered her home between midnight and 3:00 a.m. At least one of the several bullets that entered the house struck the victim. It is believed that the home was the intended target of the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
