Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a fatal collision between two vehicles that left a man, Ricardo Garcia, dead Friday night in west Phoenix.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of 68th Avenue and Thomas Road on September 29, 2023, at about 9:35 p.m. to investigate a serious collision. When they got to the scene, officers found Mr. Garcia suffering from critical injuries trapped in his overturned SUV. Phoenix Fire responded and extracted Mr. Garcia and pronounced him deceased on scene.
Detectives learned Mr. Garcia was making a left turn into a private drive from Thomas Road when a westbound car struck him. The car was driven by an adult female who stayed on scene and did not show any signs of impairment.
