Man Arrested For Deadly Phoenix Shooting

Phoenix Police Department detectives have book 41-year-old Eric Norwood into jail for First Degree Murder and other felony charges after patrol officers found him close to the scene of a homicide.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on October 1, 2023, at about 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call in the area of 2600 West Morten Avenue. When officers got to the area, they found a man suffering from a critical gunshot wound. The man identified as 39-year-old Ricardo Villalobos was pronounced deceased on scene by Phoenix Fire.

Patrol officers learned from witness’s that a man and woman were seen running from the scene and began to search the area. Officers quickly spotted two individuals matching the description given to them nearby and detained them.
