A man was shot and killed after forcefully entering into a house in the neighborhood of 19th Avenue and Camelback Road on Thursday night.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, just before 11:00 p.m. on October 5, 2023, officers responded to a criminal damage call for service at a house near 1700 West Coolidge Street. While officers were responding, the caller informed 911 that he had shot the man entering his house. When officers got to the house, they found 30-year-old Ricky Gomez suffering from a critical gunshot wound. Gomez was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The homeowner was not arrested at the time of this investigation.
At the conclusion of this investigation, police say charges will be submitted and reviewed by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
