Elderly Pedestrian Killed In Vehicle Collision In Phoenix

Phoenix Police are investigating a fatal vehicle collision resulting in the death of
an elderly man.

Officers responded to a serious vehicle collision near 43rd Avenue and Bell Road. When officers arrived, they found 86-year-old Joseph Pavlics lying on the roadway. The fire department responded and pronounced Mr. Pavlics man deceased on scene.

The vehicle involved in the collision remained in the area and the driver cooperated with officers.

Detectives believe Mr. Pavlics entered the roadway on Bell Road, either by falling or attempting to cross it, and was struck by a van entering Bell Road from a private drive.

The collision remains under investigation.
