Black Canyon City Man Arrested For Aggravated Assault

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office

On Sunday morning, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office YCSO dispatchers received a call from a woman who said that a shoeless female holding a large kitchen knife had run to her home for help.

The neighbor reported that the female was injured, shaking, and visibly scared.

Deputies learned that Cayce Sahr, 37 year old male from Black Canyon City, had assaulted the woman, with whom he was acquainted, in his home by throwing her down and slamming her head into the floor. The victim was able to get away and run to a bedroom where Sahr pinned her on the bed and stabbed her wrist 4-5 times with a knife, telling her he was going to kill her. The victim was able to escape and run to the neighbor’s house, who then called 911. However, Sahr was not at his residence when YCSO arrived and a notice to be on the lookout was issued for him.

On Sunday evening, a different neighbor called the Sheriff’s Office to say that they saw Sahr’s vehicle parked back at his house, leading deputies to return to the residence where the assault occurred.

Once on scene, deputies surrounded the home, calling out for Sahr to exit the residence. He refused to comply. As a precautionary measure, the deputies called for the SWAT team, who were able to get the suspect out of the home safely and arrest him on multiple charges including aggravated assault.
