Early Morning Collision In Phoenix Leaves One Man Dead

Phoenix Police investigating a fatal collision that occurred just after 4:30 a.m.

Officers responded to a serious vehicle collision near 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road just after 4:30 am. When officers arrived, they found two vehicles involved in the collision. One of the vehicles, a white SUV, was occupied by 24-year-old Giovanni Hermosillo Falcon. The fire department arrived and extricated Hermosillo Falcon from the SUV, however, he died from his injuries on scene.

The second vehicle involved, a 10-wheel dump truck, was occupied by an adult male who suffered minor injuries. Detectives responded to investigate the collision.

Preliminary information suggests the speed of the SUV was a factor in the collision.

The investigation remains active.
