Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a late-night shooting and related collision that left a several hospitalized, including the suspect.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on November 17, 2023, around 9:10 p.m., officers responded to the area of 36th Street and McDowell Road regarding a shooting at a local business. When officers arrived, they located in total four adult males with injuries suffered as a result of the shooting. Three of the men suffered gunshot wounds and were all transported to local hospitals with what are now considered non-life-threatening injuries.
The fourth man was injured by debris from the shooting and was treated on scene by Phoenix Fire.
Detectives was learned that a man entered the business and began firing a handgun causing the listed injuries. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle and was followed from the scene by a witness. The suspect traveled to the area of 44th Street and Campbell Road when he ran a red light causing a collision with two other vehicles. The suspect vehicle rolled over causing the man to be injured. He was transported to a local hospital for what is now determined to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the collision were also transported to local hospitals, both with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man remains in the hospital receiving treatment. When he is released from medical care, he will be booked on several felony charges.
