Early Morning Shooting In Phoenix Leaves Man Dead

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating an early morning shooting that left a 30-year-old man dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on December 8, 2023, around 2:40 a.m., officers responded to the area of 27th Avenue and Missouri Avenue regarding a shooting. While heading to the area, officers learned that the victim’s vehicle was now in the area of 26th Avenue and Pierson Street. When officers arrived there, they located an adult male, identified as Ray Sandfield, with at least one gunshot wound. Sandfield did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene. The scene of the shooting was located in the area of 27th Avenue and Missouri Avenue.

Detectives responded to assume the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
