Christmas night got bloody for an elderly couple in Yavapai County.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, a 70-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach during a dispute with his wife at their home.
Elizabeth Barreras, age 75, of Rimrock was charged with four felony counts including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was booked into the Verde Valley Jail.
Elizabeth’s husband underwent emergency surgery, and is expected to survive.
