U.S. Customs and Border Patrol is reporting 302,034 migrant encounters at the southern border last month, a number that easily surpasses the previous high set in September of 2023, which saw roughly 30,000 fewer encounters.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) is also reporting that Border Patrol agents arrested 19 people on the FBI terror watchlist in December, bringing the total to 50 arrests for fiscal year (FY) 2024 so far.

The Tucson Sector of the Border Patrol is still leading all border sectors in apprehensions for FY2024, with over 200,000, and is already more than halfway to its FY2023 total for the year, with over 370,000 through three months.

The Tucson Sector’s December apprehensions of unaccompanied children stands at 4,507.

Congressman Andy Biggs wished a Border Patrol agent a speedy recovery after the agent was assaulted with rocks while arresting several illegal aliens. Biggs, who has spearheaded the effort to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, tweeted:

Wishing this agent a speedy recovery.

Many folks streaming across our border right now are armed and dangerous.

This lawlessness must come to an immediate halt.

However, agents say as long as Mayorkas and the Biden administration are in charge, the border area is likely to only become more dangerous.
