Glendale Man In Custody For Killing His Father

The Glendale Police Department arrested Ruben Richard Longoria, a 36-yearold, on charges of 1st-degree murder for killing his father, Richard Longoria.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at around 6:30 pm, when officers
responded to a domestic dispute call involving Ruben and his father. The altercation turned physical, and as officers were en route, they received information that the father had been shot.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Richard, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Ruben, who was present at the scene, was detained without any further incident.

Investigators learned that Richard was visiting from out of town and was staying with Ruben and his family. An argument between Ruben and Richard escalated into a physical altercation inside the residence. Ruben then retrieved a firearm from his bedroom and shot Richard multiple times. He subsequently asked his wife to call the police.
