Phoenix Police Investigating Death Of Man Near Valley Highway As A Homicide

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating an incident that left a man dead that has now been ruled a homicide.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on February 6, 2024, around 6:20 a.m., officers responded to the southbound Black Canyon Access Road just north of Cactus Road regarding an injured person. When officers arrived, they located an adult male who was later pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives responded to assume the investigation. There were no obvious signs of injuries to the man at the scene. The Office of the Medical Examiner responded and took possession of the remains. During autopsy the man was found to have a gunshot wound from a small caliber firearm which resulted in his death.

Anyone with information is asked to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
