Phoenix Police Investigating Homicide Death Of Man Found In Canal

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a homicide case where a body was found inside the canal near 43rd Avenue and Indian School Road.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on February 21, 2024, just after 10:00 a.m., officers responded to a call of a body found inside the canal near 4300 West Longview Avenue. The deceased victim was taken out of the canal and identified as 40-year-old Darrick Cling.

The Office of the Medical Examiner is assisting in this ongoing investigation. Detectives are asking the community to provide any information into what led to Cling’s death by calling into Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO.
