Yuma Man Arrested After Allegedly Stealing From Barry M. Goldwater Range

On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the United States Marine Corps Criminal Investigations Division about thefts and criminal damage that had been occurring on the Barry M. Goldwater Range.

During the course of this joint investigation, a suspect was identified as James Garin Rozycki, age 53, of Yuma.

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) served a search warrant at a residence in the 24400 Block of E. County 13th Street in Wellton.

The search of the residence led to the discovery and recovery of the majority of the items reported stolen, which includes large generators, optima batteries, and military vehicle batteries. Also seized were approximately 20.95 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of Psilocybin Mushrooms, 0.8 grams of Cocaine, items of drug paraphernalia and multiple firearms.

Rozycki was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for 3 counts of Theft, Criminal Trespass, Burglary, 18 counts of Possession of a Weapon in a Drug Offense, 2 count of Possession of Dangerous, and 1 count of Narcotic Drug Violation and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
