West Valley Shooting Ends In Multi-Vehicle Collision

Phoenix police detectives are investigating several events that left one man dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on February 29, 2024, around 12:50 p.m., Phoenix police officers responded to the area of 6700 West Filmore Street regarding a multi-vehicle collision with one vehicle on fire. Phoenix fire responded to extinguish the fire, and located the adult male driver, identified as 19-year-old David Juarez. Juarez was pronounced deceased on scene. An adult male passenger was transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for a non-fatal injury.

Additional calls for service related the vehicle in the collision to a shooting near 61st Avenue and Filmore Street. Evidence of a shooting was discovered at a home in the area. The home was searched, and no additional victim(s) or suspect(s) were discovered.

Multiple detective units responded to assume the homicide scene and the related collision. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
