A man, Jose Andres Guerrero Talamantes, is in custody accused of killing another man, David Hadrich, in a hit-and-run crash near Carefree in December, announced the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, on December 10, 2023, just before 1:00 p.m., deputies responded to a hit and run collision on Cave Creek and Pima Roads in Carefree. A silver and white pickup truck struck a motorcycle. The pickup fled the scene, and the motorcycle rider was transported to a local valley hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
During the course of the investigation on February 9th, 2024, the Glendale Police Department received a call for service in which the caller indicated the possible suspect vehicle involved in this collision, a white 2015 GMC 2500, was located at a storage yard in Glendale.
Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) detectives conducted follow up at the storage yard, ultimately seizing the vehicle as evidence. The recovered evidence and vehicle were processed leading to the identification of the 28-year-old Guerrero Talamantes.
“Successful identification of a suspect in this investigation was made possible through the hard work and dedication of MCSO Detectives/support personnel and the community’s assistance in providing lead information,” said Sheriff Russ Skinner. “While
these investigations are complex, we remain committed to public safety and serving our community.”
On March 1st, 2024, detectives with the help of the Fugitive Apprehension Tactical Enforcement (FATE) Unit, located and arrested Guerrero Talamantes for the hit and run death of Mr. Hadrich on December 10th, 2023.
Talamantes was booked into MCSO’s ITR facility for felony hit and run charges involving death.
