After Truck Runs Stop Sign Woman Killed In West Phoenix

Phoenix police is investigating a fatal traffic collision between a passenger car and pickup that occurred early this morning.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, just after 4:15 a.m. officers were called to 79th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road where they found two vehicles involved in a serious collision. A passenger vehicle was occupied by a man and a woman. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman died from her injuries on scene. The second vehicle was a pickup truck which was occupied by two adults and two children. They were all taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believe the pickup truck was heading northbound on 79th Avenue when it failed to stop for the stop sign at Lower Buckeye Road and collided with the passenger vehicle that was heading eastbound on Lower Buckeye Road.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue to process the evidence and submit items for laboratory analysis.
