Independence High School Teacher Arrested For Secretly Filming Students Undressing

An Independence High School teacher, Estevan Carreon, is accused of secretly recording students while they were undressing, according to the Glendale Police Department.

The incident occurred when the 53-year-old Carreon invited students to a meeting during spring break. The students were promised extra credit.

Carreon has been placed on administrative leave, according to the school district.

Glendale Union High School District released the following statement:

“We are actively working with the Glendale Police Department regarding this matter. In accordance with policy, Glendale Union High School District cannot provide details regarding personnel matters; however, we can confirm that the teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending further action, has been relieved of all duties and has been arrested. We are unable to provide any additional comments on this matter.”

Police say that Carreon was arrested after the teenage students discovered hidden cameras in the room they were using to change in and out of various costumes as part of the extra credit project Carreon arranged at the school on Monday, Mar. 18.
