Georgia Man Convicted In Yavapai County For Child Molestation, Sexual Conduct With A Minor

A Yavapai County jury found Dennis Evan Carraher, 59, of Georgia, guilty of Sexual Conduct with a Minor Under the Age of 12 and Molestation of a Child on March 26.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office investigation revealed that Carraher was a friend of a family with two young children, one of whom was only seven years old. Carraher used his relationship with the family to gain access to, and abuse, both children. The younger child eventually reported the abuse, and the case was thoroughly investigated by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department.

“I have no tolerance for anyone who abuses a child. My office will aggressively prosecute these crimes and will seek lengthy prison sentences for child molesters,” said Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane. “I encourage anyone who believes a child is being abused to contact their local law enforcement agency. One phone call might save a child from unspeakable horror.”

Sentencing is scheduled for April 24.

Carraher is facing a minimum of 10 years in prison for the Child Molestation conviction and faces a consecutive life sentence for the Sexual Conduct With a Minor Under Twelve conviction.
