Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a fatal traffic collision involving a single vehicle that rolled over after driving at a high rate of speed in a residential neighborhood.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were called to a vehicle collision just after 4:45 p.m. in the area of 23rd Avenue and Roeser Road. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle on its roof, just off the roadway, next to a wall. Two men were found on the ground next to the vehicle. Witnesses told officers a third man got out of the vehicle and ran off.

The fire department responded and transported one of the men to the hospital with serious injuries but was stabilized once at the hospital. The second man, 38- year-old Terrell Guerra, died from his injuries on scene. The third man who ran from the area was not located and remains outstanding.

Detectives believe Guerra was the driver of the vehicle and was seen driving at a high rate of speed when the vehicle hit a curb, lost a wheel, then rolled over before crashing into a block wall.
